How to make a request

  1. First make sure you clicked the correct edit-link and you are actually requesting the right you want.
  2. Copy the following and append it to the text-area: 
    {{subst:rfr|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}|2=reason}} Thank you. ~~~~
  3. Replace reason with a rationale based on the rollback guideline, renaming guideline or the patroller guideline.
  4. Press Publish changes.

Note

  • Please check back periodically so you can respond to any queries.
  • If your request has remained unanswered for several days, consider personally asking an administrator.
  • Administrators, please welcome users granted a new right with an appropriate message.
  • When requesting rights that need support by the community (e.g. administrator) please go to Commons:Requests and votes!

If you request the rollback-right, please read the how-to first.

Admins and anyone with global rollback don't need to request rollback. License reviewers don't have to request the patrol flag.

@PancoPinco: Significant changes should be uploaded as new files, per COM:OVERWRITE. Files like File:Floriano Pietrocola - Ritratto di Maria Adelaide d'Asburgo Lorena (1822-1855).jpg, File:Marion Graves Anthon Fish.jpg, File:Arabella Huntington.jpg, and File:Juliane Franziska von Hessen-Homburg, Fürstin Nassau-Siegen.jpg, for example, should all have been uploaded as new files. I'd like to overwrite some files related to Olympics, and replace them with higher quality files. For example, File:Individual Neutral Athletes at the 2024 Summer Olympics Flag.svg, the current version is absolutely a mess, and does not comply with the official file that IOC released days ago. I have added the template to the file you mentioned. Your edit count is very low, and I'd like to see more activity before granting you the flag. You can make individual requests at COM:OWR. ZackCarns[edit]

I would like to start overwriting files relating to elections in the United States and replace them with higher quality files that I have uploaded. Some examples include File:South Dakota Presidential Election Results 1956.svg and File:Washington Presidential Election Results 1928.svg with File:South Dakota Presidential Election Results 1956 by county.svg and File:1928 Presidential Election in Washington.svg. However, my goals are to include hundreds of other files that I have created that can update already existing files and improve the quality of these maps. Thanks. I would like to apply a deletion notice in bulk to a category of images that I am appealing to be removed due to incorrect copyright status - Category:Images_from_Auckland_Museum_marked_with_cultural_permissions as per my request at Commons:Deletion_requests/Category:Images_from_Auckland_Museum_marked_with_cultural_permissions. There are ~2500 images requiring this notice as per the deletion request requirements, and OpenRefine seems untenable as a batch editing option as the reconciliation service currently has a bug that has stopped me from doing any editing to that category. Of course, if there is an alternative to AutoWikiBrowser I would be happy to hear it - anything is better than copy and pasting 2500 times! Thank you. TheImaCow[edit]

Category:US National Archives series: "Airscapes" of American and Foreign Areas contains ~10,000 images which have "1917 – 1964" as date=* in their information template - only the general range the images were made in. I would like to change this to the exact date of the image. The exact dates are almost always part of the scanned image. Also, many images are tagged with author=unknown, but the name of the author is stated on the scan. AWB would be perfect for this task. Thank you. TheImaCow (talk) 21:02, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
